Benjamin is a Senior Manager at Aflac with responsibility for the information security of all non-insurance Aflac subsidiaries, having more than 10 years' experience in IT, Audit, and Information Security. He was born and raised just outside of Charlotte, in Cherryville NC, and graduated from Appalachian State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with majors in both Accounting and Computer Information Systems. Active in many social, charitable and professional organizations, Ben has served with Charlotte HYP for more than 4 years, has traveled to El Salvador on a Habitat Global Village trip, and is active in a number of other social and charitable causes. In his spare time, Ben likes to root for his Appalachian State Mountaineers, travel, play tennis, practice yoga, golf, and ski (both water and snow).
John is a Zone Manager for Ford Motor Company in the Sales Division, calling on dealers across the Charlotte area. A native of Detroit, he graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where he majored in Marketing with an emphasis on Strategic Communications. During his time at Creighton, he participated in several Habitat builds as a supervisor, volunteered with Junior Achievement and was President of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. In addition to Habitat of Charlotte, he is also involved with his church. John enjoys things that go fast (cars, motorcycles, boats, and snowmobiles), photography and outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, biking, running, beach volleyball and tennis.
Katrine is a Contract Coordinator for the Carolinas Healthcare System. Before moving to Charlotte, she worked in Washington, D.C. as a social justice lobbyist at NETWORK, and later as a program coordinator for a court reform project at ZERO TO THREE. Her passion for Habitat began at Villanova University where she participated in the Saturday Habitat for Humanity program, and in several Habitat Service Break Experiences. One of her bucket list items is to bulid with Habitat in every state; so far, she's crossed off NM, GA, TN, NC, MS, IA, NJ, PA and DC (OK, technically not a state) from her list. Eight down, 42 to go.
Trenton Huntley was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. He has undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Merchandising from East Carolina University. For graduate studies, he completed his MBA at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Currently, he is a Police Tele-communicator with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, and has aspirations of transitioning into a management role with the City of Charlotte. Trenton first became involved with Habitat for Humanity in January of 2015 to fulfill a community service requirement for a leadership seminar course. The ability to connect with others from different backgrounds, while witnessing the tangible results of his efforts, left an indelible impression. He is dedicated to servicing his community, and passionate about making contributions toward improving Charlotte. In his spare time, he is an avid tennis player. When he is not playing tennis, he enjoys the company of friends, family, or solitary pursuits.
David is a licensed CPA. He graduated from NC State with a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in accounting. He is currently a Senior IT Auditor at Elliott Davis Decosimo, performing business process controls testing and IT security consulting for community banks and government agencies. David began volunteering with Habitat in college through organizations and clubs. In his free time, David enjoys running, racquetball, and listening to podcasts.
Philip is a Vice President in the compliance department of Wells Fargo Securities and a lawyer. He majored in psychology and minored in philosophy at Davidson College and received his law degree from the University of Kentucky. His interest in Habitat for Humanity arose from his pro bono work advising clients on landlord-tenant and foreclosure law matters, and from a need to spend more time outdoors. In his spare time, in addition to his participation in other nonprofits in the Charlotte area, he is an avid reader, traveler, an average hiker, and a worse golfer.
Vincent Durman II
Vincent is a Realtor® licensed in North and South Carolina. He also manages a successful real estate investment company. Before moving to Charlotte, he worked as Contract Negotiator at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center. He earned a MBA from Mississippi College and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Jackson State University. Vincent is involved in many charitable, church, and community groups in the area and has a passion for volunteering which was passed down through several generations of his family. Before joining Habitat of Charlotte, he served on the campaign board for the United Way of West Central Mississippi for 3 years. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, volunteering, sampling new restaurants, and traveling.
Henry 'Art' Goodson
Art is a licensed CPA and Senior Tax Analyst for Electrolux. He was born in Wake Forest, NC, and graduated from NC State with a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in accounting. He first became involved in Habitat for Humanity through multiple leadership positions in his college chapter at NCSU, and still volunteers frequently on construction projects with Habitat Charlotte. Art is also heavily involved at his church where he leads a team of volunteers. When not on a worksite or at church he enjoys watching sports, working out, reading, and playing videogames.
Originally from Oklahoma, Andrew moved to Charlotte in 2014 to work for Dula Construction. He is currently the operations manager since 2016for the company after transitioning from the sales team. He attended college at the University of Central Oklahoma. New to the world of Habitat for Humanity, he started volunteering with them the summer of 2017 and fell in love with the community that came with it. For fun he enjoys live music, trivia, biking, video games, and traveling.
Nalini is a Sr. Applications Specialist with Carolinas Healthcare, working on their electronic health records and billing software for regional partners. She was born and raised in Delaware before moving to Columbia, SC. She received both her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Master of Healthcare Administration degrees at the University of South Carolina. Nalini became interested in Habitat when she participated in builds while in high school and is excited be a part of HYP Charlotte. She has also been a volunteer math tutor for over ten years. Nalini is an avid football fan. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, rock climbing, yoga, as well as spending time with family and friends.
Josh grew up in eastern NC, attended NC State and graduated with degrees in Computer and Electrical Engineering. Josh began working on Habitat jobsites just before college and has spent years working with his campus chapter as well as local affiliates. He has also traveled to Washington DC with Habitat on the Hill and in Honduras on a Global Village trip. Now, Josh works as an electrical engineer for a local design firm. In his free time, he plays softball, runs obstacle course races, and tries to explore as much of western NC as possible.
Alexa is a Project Engineer for Turner Construction and is currently working at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport to help build a new Concourse. She was born and raised in a small town in West Virginia and graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University. She got hired by Turner’s Philadelphia office out of college and held several different positions there until October of 2016 when she transferred to Turner’s Charlotte office. In addition to volunteering with Habitat, she is also a kid’s ministry volunteer at her church. In her spare time, Alexa enjoys traveling, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and staying active.
Jacki Keating is a Public Relations Manager at SPARK Strategic Ideas, a local strategic branding agency. After graduating from the University of Florida (go Gators!) where she studied marketing and mass communication, Jacki moved to New York City to pursue her career in PR. She moved to Charlotte in 2016, and although she will always be a Florida girl at heart, Jacki loves living in the Queen City and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. You can often find her exploring different neighborhoods around town and searching for new restaurants (she’s currently on a hunt for the best chicken and waffles in Charlotte). From hiking and rock climbing to running and practicing yoga, Jacki loves being active outdoors, hence her passion for Habitat builds!
Allie Alu is originally from Cleveland, Ohio – Go Cavs! She attended the University of Cincinnati where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Journalism. Her post-college job search led her to Charlotte, North Carolina where she now works as a Community and Citizenship Assistant for Turner Construction Company. Throughout her life, Allie has been involved in a variety of organizations in the Cleveland, Cincinnati and now Charlotte. She has a passion for giving back any way that she can. Now working in the construction industry, Habitat is the perfect way of giving back and getting more in touch with her construction side. In her spare time she enjoys traveling to new cities, writing, exploring the different areas of Charlotte, running, and spending time with her friends.
