HYP members are young professionals in their 20s and 30s who are motivated to make an impact in the Charlotte Region and have fun doing it! HYP empowers its members to make a difference by encouraging a spirit of service, camaraderie and honoring the core values of Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region. Membership provides opportunities to volunteer, speak out as affordable housing advocates, build your network and – most importantly – have FUN!
Advocate for affordable housing – HYP members will speak out about affordable housing and Habitat Charlotte Region, as well as encourage friends, family, and colleagues to join HYP Charlotte.
Give within their means – HYP members commit to pay dues to support Habitat Charlotte Region’s affordable housing initiatives.
We view our work as successful when it transforms lives and promotes positive and lasting social, economic and spiritual change within a community; when it is based on mutual trust and fully shared accomplishment; and when it demonstrates responsible stewardship of all resources entrusted to us.
Volunteer time with Habitat for Humanity – HYP members are invited to volunteer on the worksite, in the ReStores and during special events.
We believe that no one lives in dignity until everyone can live in dignity. We believe that every person has something to contribute and something to gain from creating communities in which all people have decent, affordable places to live. We believe that dignity and hope are best achieved through equitable, accountable partnerships.
